Impacts of Global IT Outage Our Members Might Encounter

Elements Financial is aware that members are experiencing the ripple effects prompted by the global CrowdStrike outage; however, we can provide reassurance that the credit union’s managed systems are not directly impacted.

While our own direct systems are safe and intact, members might be experiencing indirect service impacts and inconveniences caused by the widespread technological challenges:

  • Intermittent debit and credit cards transactions declining at gas stations and other merchants, due to their issues with payment processing
  • ATM transactions not completing; Elements-owned ATMs are functioning, yet you might experience a decline at another ATM.
  • Other indirect outages: For instance, if you use another financial institution that has been impacted, you might experience a delay with a bank-to-bank transfer.

The global nature of the outage affects multiple countries and industries. Elements is proactively addressing and navigating any potential impacts caused by the interconnectedness of digital systems.

We will provide ongoing updates if we identify other service impacts.

As always, please remain aware and vigilant against fraud schemes via phone calls, emails, and text messages as impersonation attempts of your financial institutions and other merchants. Fraudsters frequently try to capitalize on scenarios like this one.
